CHARACTER INFO:
NAME: Hibiki Kuze
CANON: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker.
GAME UNIVERSE ONLY. Devil Survivor 2 also has an anime and two manga incarnations (one loosely based on the game, and one based off the anime). The anime verse is VASTLY DIFFERENT than the game verse, to the point where it's essentially a weird AU. He has no canon name, so I'm taking the anime canon name for him, but nothing else is derived from that verse.
CR/AU/PSL: Nope!
HISTORY:
Character wiki page | Game wiki for the first arc | Wiki for the second arc | Game script for the first arc if you hate yourself | Complete LP of the first arc if your masochistic urges are really off the charts
SETTING:
From the point I'm taking him, he lives in modern Tokyo. However, strange/unique places he's been include the Akasha Stratum, a strange, broken up platform world that's floating in a sky of clouds suspended above a sea of stars (and is where the administrator of the universe sit upon their heavenly throne); the JP's headquarters, a large, sprawling underground facility with platforms, a large clock with the clockwork exposed, and many halls and room hidden behind passageways in the main entrance/library; and a Japan that's being swallowed up by a void of pure nothingness where no data exists.
Further info on JP's HQ:
The entrance way leads to various scaffold hallways that lead to assorted rooms, offices, and even a hospital. The walls are lined with shelves filled mostly with books on history, politics, and mythology.
There is the clock alley that is a scaffolding hallway behind the giant clock in the entrance way. This alley leads to simple bedrooms for personnel and guests. The railings prevent anyone from accidentally falling into the clockwork.
The command room has two forms. One is from the Septentrione arc (and the one that Hibiki mentally associates with the command room the most). This form has seven clocks of various sizes in a vertical line on the wall, and it too has scaffold hallways that lead to deeper in the facility. Another view (ignore the green ring monster), and yet another view.
The second form from the Triangulum arc has three large clocks and one smaller clock instead of the seven, and a giant swings down from it. Otherwise, they are identical. This version of the command room is one Hibiki knows well, but he has less association with it, despite it being the fresher memory.
PERSONALITY:
Silent protagonist! However, it is canon that he makes some really odd statements, and a lot of his dialogue options are just...strange. Humorous. He definitely has a personality despite being a silent protag is what I'm getting at. But he also uses his sense of humor to lighten the mood and diffuse the situation. For instance, a lot of his really off-the-wall options appear late in the week, when the party is stressed out and tired of dealing with shit. This is a product of his empathy, which he has loads of. With that said, he doesn't always use that empathy to be kind. He's a bit of a troll, and that can cross over into asshole territory, albeit not often. Most of the time, his trollish tendencies manifest in running in circles with people through their conversation, meandering through topics while either being purposefully obtuse or aggravatingly direct. Or both.
Overall, he's a nice kid. Helpful, willing to take on burdens, and driven when he needs to be. Other than that, he's normal when the situation is normal. When things get bad, though, he'll step up to the plate. It's this aspect of him that makes him a shining representation of the potential of the human race—a normal guy in most cases, a driven and resourceful leader who understands and mediates in world-ending cases.

- As a silent protag, he doesn't actually have much of a canon history! We know he has a two parents, but we don't see them. He also has a childhood best friend, whom you do see in the game!
- Short summary of the first arc: The world gets invaded by alien star demon things. They destroy stuff. Hibiki and his friends summon demons to destroy them. The world gets engulfed by a void, and the only way to change it is to regress it with a new underlying world philosophy. The party argues about how the new world order should be and splits up. Hibiki picks one of the sides and regresses the world.
- Short summary of the second arc: They decide on an idealized world order that everyone's happy with and regress the world, but it goes wrong. Hibiki vanishes in this second world because aliens, and the rest of the party save two gets wiped out by NEW alien star demon invaders. The survivors regress the world again. In the third world, Hibiki's back, but one of the survivors had to stay behind to take care of aliens, and a female clone of him takes his place. Everyone loses their memory except Hibiki, who has the power to unlock their memories from the first world. Hibiki catches them all to find out WTF happened and to defeat the alien star demon thingy version of god FOR GOOD (Maybe. Depending on which route you take)
- He is being taken from the best version of the Record Breaker ending, where everyone is alive and no demons or alien star things are killing people.
